K-tuin, the main Spanish Apple Premium reseller, and member of the Midis group, has acquired Banana Computer and its four sales sites in the Canary Islands. Two of the Apple Premium Reseller sites are located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with two other stores in Tenerife, one in the capital, Santa Cruz, and the other in La Laguna.
The agreement between Banana Computer and K-tuin is an important step toward integrating the partners' distribution expertise in retail, business-to-business (B2B), and education. With the support of Midis Group, the collaboration aims to leverage synergies and benefit from the extensive experience of both companies and their teams of professionals.
K-tuin has 33 stores spread throughout the Spanish peninsula, the Balearic Islands and Andorra. The association with Banana Computer further strengthens K-tuin’s position as a leader in the Spanish Apple market.
Banana Computer holds a leading position in the consumer technology market in the islands. Following this agreement, the company will continue to operate under the leadership of Laura Herrera while retaining its brand and autonomy. Customers will not experience any significant differences beyond the inclusion of new benefits and services as a result of this acquisition.
“An exciting new phase begins. This is a big step forward for both brands to continue to compete in the Apple market with a focus on offering customers a different and innovative proposition; Ultimately, the best possible shopping experience”, said Ernest Sales, chairman of K-tuin.
On the Banana Computer website, the news of the acquisition by K-tuin was accompanied by an important offer for customers: "Banana will continue with its well-known brands, the friendly proximity of its specialists and the signature of its premium stores. Added to this are the new services that K-tuin now successfully offers in all its stores. To start celebrating this union, we are happy to announce that starting today Banana customers will have free access to K-tuin skool, the best platform in Spanish for online product training Apple.”
K-tuin was founded in 1994 by Juan Fabre. This young Aragonese discovered his passion for technology when the meat management program was computerized in the bar-restaurant where he worked. The first store opened in Madrid and dozens of openings followed. K-tuin was the first Spanish company to become an Apple Premium Reseller, the highest classification among Apple Resellers.
Today, K-tuin is the largest network of Apple Premium resellers in Spain, with more than 30 points of sale across the country, two in Andorra, and a renowned online store. Since Midis Group acquired the company in 2019, K-tuin has continued to grow. In summer 2021, the company merged with two other major Spanish resellers – Apple Premium – Goldenmac and Microgestió, and all today operate under the K-tuin brand.
